MacMillan Singers
MacMillan Singers is the University of Toronto Faculty of Music's select choral ensemble comprising 40 members who audition annually. Many of the students are voice majors, but others major in piano, composition, music education and choral conducting. The ensemble sings challenging music from many centuries, and prides itself on developing both choral and musicianship skills. Since their founding in 1997, the ensemble has sung with the Toronto Symphony, the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, participated in the Toronto Bach Festival, and sang at the Eastern Division American Choral Directors Association conference in Philadelphia in 2010. They have premiered a number of works by Canadian composers including Imant Raminsh and John Burge.

During the 2011-2012 academic year, they performed with the Orpheus Choir of Toronto, the University of Western Ontario Concert Choir, the Cawthra Park High School Vocal Ensemble, and the Elmer Iseler Singers with whom they performed at the national conference of the Association of Canadian Choral Communities in Ottawa in May. Accompanist Christopher Dawes has been with the choir for several years; conductor Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt began her tenure with MacMillan Singers in the fall of 2010.
