Composer, pianist, concert producer and teacher, Jason White earned a BMus in composition at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2004, after studying with Peter Hatch and Glenn Buhr. He studied piano with Heather Dawn Taves. He frequetnly performs as an improvisor in Digital Prowess, as well as in the fusion group New Clear Trio.
Jason is seen often throughout Ontario as a jazz pianist, and is in high demand as an educator. He enjoys regular invitations to perform with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, and has accompanied RIchard Stoltzman, Denzal Sinclair, Larry Larson, and Bill Conti. He is very active as a vocal accompanist, and has performed in many musicals and operas. He has been the music director for the '06, '07, and '08 Hope Benefit for breast cancer at the Centre in the Square. He received a 2004 K-W Arts Award in the Leading Edge category.
Jason co-wrote the music for Theatre & Company's "Tales from the Snowy Woods." He completed and recorded a piano concerto for the Windsor Symphony Orchestra's Canadian New Music Week in 2004, and has written music for several short films and documentaries. In 2007 he published 2 books of harp music called Harpology, and almost all of its pieces were added to the Royal Conservatory of Music harp syllabus.
