Jeremy Nasmith received his dance training at the School of Atelier Ballet from Jeannette Zingg, and at the National Ballet School from Glenn Gilmour. He also studied composition with Dr. Derek Holman. Having already extensively performed and toured with Opera Atelier in North America and Europe since 1986, in 1996 Jeremy joined the National Ballet of Canada and was quickly trusted with soloist and principal roles. Some highlights include Uncle Nikolai in James Kudelka's 'The Nutcracker', and Alain in 'La Fille Mal Gardee' and Puck in 'The Dream', both by Sir Frederick Ashton.

All the while continuing to appear with Opera Atelier in all their productions, Jeremy spent the next seven years with the National Ballet of Canada and achieved the rank of Second Soloist. In 2001, Jeremy left to pursue a freelance career splitting his time between Toronto and Tokyo. Jeremy continued to appear with the National Ballet as a guest artist until 2008.

In Japan, Jeremy has danced the majority of the classical repertoire, and it was there that he began to choreograph in earnest, and also to compose music for several of his ballets. Jeremy has choreographed more than 25 works, ranging in style from Baroque to Modern, and in scope from short solos and duets for Galas or competitions, to stagings of full-evening ballets.

In Toronto, Jeremy has choreographed for Ballet Jorgen Canada, the Fringe festival, the Four Season's Center lunchtime concerts, Kazoku productions, the Royal Ontario Museum, and most recently, Aradia Ensemble.

As a chamber musician, she performs regularly as a member of the Windermere String Quartet on Period Instruments, Talisker Players Chamber Music (with whom she has appeared at chamber music festivals in Elora, Ottawa, and Vancouver), and L’Intemporel Baroque Ensemble. Serenade Française, a CD of music by French composers that Laura recorded with her father, pianist Lawrence Jones, was released in January of 2008.
